A study published on the journal’s website of the British Medical Association, 25% of people, that one in four made piercing at some point of their face (except for the ear lobe) experienced complications.
Specifically, the complications that can occur in piercing is:
- If the earring is where you can bite, there is a risk to break a tooth.
- Dangerous infections due to bacteria found in the oral cavity
- Extremely important swelling to an extent that may cause us discomfort in breathing
- There is a risk of drowning if they break the earring and swallow
